My 6th grade class has been working with video editing software so I figured I show them how to edit videos using inexpensive means. Cell phones....Blackberries....the Touch.....Moviemaker...etc. Software that was free and readily available to them but yet able to produce a finished product. Pretty creative I guess. Besides, my guest bedroom wasn't getting too much use.
For the audio, we had to review converting .amr to .mp3 to make it compatible with moviemaker. The audio was also recorded with their cell phones, emailed to themselves and then converted online using a free platform. I showed them the video I took on my phone last night and they wanted to go with a lullaby theme. They were up for a sing-a-long and the rest is history. Well their next class is hiostory I guess. I also worked with the English department to get a new version of "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep". You can hear that at the end of the video.
For a poor rural school district...the kids are pretty tech savvy. Again, sorry for the poor image quality. But the idea was supposed to be low budget/ghetto video.
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray my crankset’s dry and neat.
So I may ride without wet feet
or caked with mud my pristine cleats.
